The Tennis in the Land (TITL) tournament in Cleveland is introducing some exciting additions for this summer’s event. The headline addition is a new 2,000-seat tennis-specific temporary stadium called Topnotch Stadium. It will replace the Jacobs Pavilion court used in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 250 event’s first two years. Located west of Jacobs Pavilion, the uncovered Topnotch Stadium will feature five suites, and all courtside boxes will be within the court’s first three rows. The stadium is named after Topnotch Management, the Cleveland-based company that runs TITL.
The new venue will be constructed by Production Management One and will host over 30 matches from August 19 to 26 at the Nautica Waterfront District. In addition to the main stadium, TITL will have five-match courts outside the stadium, as it did in previous years. All six courts, including the main stadium and the outside courts, will have an asphalt surface. This move aims to position Cleveland as an attractive destination for WTA players to prepare for the U.S. Open, which also uses asphalt courts and starts on August 28.
Other changes to TITL include the introduction of more hospitality options. The condensed footprint of the event will allow for a better food and beverage program, with elevated options for both the stadium court and the outside courts. The VIP Hospitality Club will offer lunch and dinner service to guests in courtside boxes and hospitality suites. Fans can also purchase food from the returning Fan Zone and enjoy beverages from brand partners such as Chandon.
TITL has also partnered with SeatGeek as its new ticketing platform. SeatGeek, which handles tickets for the Cleveland Cavaliers and is the official ticket resale partner of Major League Baseball, will provide ticketing services for the tournament. This partnership has enabled TITL to offer more affordable ticket prices, with the lowest-priced ticket dropping to $25, inclusive of all fees. The tournament organizers can sell tickets across all SeatGeek platforms through their back-end technology platform, Unify.
Furthermore, the tournament’s leadership has plans to develop a permanent tennis facility in Cleveland. While the Topnotch Stadium is a temporary structure, the long-term goal is to have a dedicated facility that will serve as the home of TITL and offer tennis and pickleball programming throughout the year.
Overall, these additions and changes to TITL aim to enhance the tournament experience, attract top players as they prepare for the U.S. Open, provide more hospitality options for fans, offer affordable ticket prices, and pave the way for a permanent tennis facility in Cleveland. The 2023 Tennis in the Land WTA 250 event will take place August 19-26. Courtside boxes, suites, and individual tickets are on sale now at https://seatgeek.com/tennis-in-the-land-tickets.
