Thirteen games into the season, a major storyline continues to be the injuries on this club. Donovan Mitchell will miss another game on Tuesday night with a strained hamstring. Isaac Okoro is still out, along with Ty Jerome. Jerome might be a while before he is back on the court.
Also, Caris LeVert, who had a fantastic West Coast road trip, is battling a knee injury.
Hopefully, the Cavs will get healthy sooner rather than later.
As Ty Jerome continues to battle an injury, it has opened up an opportunity for Craig Porter Jr., who is taking the opportunity to make a difference and impact a game as he did against Denver on Sunday, scoring 21.
Porter needs more playing time to improve defensively, but I can see him making a difference in certain offensive situations late in the season.
It has been weird this season on the defensive end as the Cavs rank in the middle of the pack. The “junkyard dog” mentality for the Cavs must start showing up in every game. In the last game against Denver, you saw some of that come out with Jarrett Allen, who had an incredible game defensively with a plus/minus of plus 42.
