News and Notes

1 – Offensive rating

24 games into the NBA season, Cleveland needs help to get into a groove regarding offense.  The Cavs are currently 24th in offensive rating as a team.  According to Cleaning the Glass, the Cavaliers have multiple players playing major minutes with low offense usage rates.  Jarrett Allen, Georges Niang, Issac Okoro, and Dean Wade are under 50% of the league average.  Wade and Okoro are particularly low, Okoro at 16% and Wade at 3%.

2 – Mobley

Evan Mobley is the latest Cavalier who is dealing with an injury. Mobley has a left knee injury that has kept him out on this current road trip and he will be out again in Thursday’s tilt against the Celtics.

The good news is everybody else, aside from Ty Jerome who is still sidelined with an ankle injury, is back playing.

3 – Garland loves December

So far the road trip has been very good to Darius Garland, who is currently averaging 26.7 points per game on this current three-game swing.  Garland is also having a good start to December with turnovers averaging 1.8 per game compared to 4.3 in November.
