2023 Browns Schedule: Game-by-Game Predictions

September 6, 2023

Andy Billman

3 Thoughts on the 2023 Schedule

1 – A lot of home games early

For the Browns to play 4 home games out of the first 5 makes it crucial the Browns go 3-2 at the minimum.  Throw in the Browns play all three division opponents and it adds extra pressure that the Browns must come out and win right out of the gate.  The key is to beat the Bengals in the opener and the Ravens at home.  Must win those division home games.

2 – After Thanksgiving, tough three-game stretch.

Once Thanksgiving happens, the Browns go to Denver and then stay out west to play the Rams, and then back home to play Jacksonville.  I can see the Browns possibly losing all three.

3 – Thursday night against New York

Outside of the division games, which are always the most important, the Jets game already feels like a playoff make-or-break game.  A lot of pressure on the Browns to beat Aaron Rodgers in late December, not easy at all.

Easiest game – Week 9 Arizona at home.

Should be a cakewalk, Kyler Murray more than likely is still out for this game.

Hardest game – Week 1 – Cincinnati at home.

A lot of pressure to win the home opener, play a division opponent to boot, and win in week 1. Gulp.

Week-by-Week Insight and Game Outcome

WEEK 1 – CLE vs. CIN

I feel better about this game because of how good the defense looked in the preseason.

Win 1-0 | FInal Outcome – Cleveland Browns Win 24-3 Record 1-0

WEEK 2 – CLE @ PIT

I hope I am wrong, but losing at Pitt on Monday Night feels like a given.

Loss 1-1 | Final Outcome – Cleveland Browns Lose 26-22 Record 1-1

WEEK 3 – CLE vs TEN

Enjoy Cade York.

Win 2-1

WEEK 4 – CLE vs BAL

Not that this game needs more juice, but adding Jadeveon Clowney should add to the revenge factor for the Browns.

Win 3-1

WEEK 5 – BYE

WEEK 6 – CLE vs SF

If the Niners had a QB, I would take San Francisco.  But they really don’t have a long-term proven quarterback. Call me crazy, but I still like the Browns to win this game.

Win 4-1

WEEK 7 – CLE @ IND

The Colts are in full rebuild. The Colts are terrible.

Win 5-1

WEEK 8 – CLE @ SEA

Traveling cross country to Seattle is never easy and the Seahawks always play well at home.

Loss 5-2

WEEK 9 – CLE vs. AZ

The Colts are bad, the Cardinals are worse.

Win 6-2

WEEK 10 – CLE @ BAL

I would love to see a sweep of the Ravens, but… tough to see the Browns winning this game.

Loss 6-3

WEEK 11 – CLE vs. PIT

Bye Pitt

Win 7-3

WEEK 12 – CLE @ DEN

Denver seems like a mess.

Win 8-3

WEEK 13 – CLE @ LAR

LA seems like a mess, what seemed like a tough West Coast swing, not so much.

Win 9-3

WEEK 14 – CLE vs. JAX

Jacksonville over the years has given the Browns a tough time.

Loss 9-4

WEEK 15 – CLE vs. CHI

The Bears from afar seemed improved.

Win 10-4

WEEK 16 – CLE @ HOU

Can the Browns really lose in Houston?

Win 11-4

WEEK 17 – CLE vs. NYJ

After Hard Knocks, bring on the Jets.

Win 12-4

WEEK 18 – CLE @ CIN

Bookending the year against the kitty cats will not be easy. Better than ending the year in Pittsburgh, but still tough.

Loss 12-5

Should be a manageable schedule and season. Your thoughts and predictions?
