3 Things About Browns’ Victory Over Bears

1 – UNBELIEVABLE

The Browns looked like a team ready to lose down 17-7, and the Bears drove to the Browns 33.  On 4th and 1, CB Cameron Mitchell made a great tackle on QB Justin Fields(called a sack), and from that moment on, Cleveland made multiple plays that kept the momentum going.

*Joe Flacco hits a pass to WR Marquise Goodwin for 57 yards, setting up a Dustin Hopkins field goal to get it to 17-10.

*DE Alex Wright made a big tackle for a loss on 3rd and 1 to force a punt.

*Flacco throws an absolute dart to WR Amari Cooper, leading him down the sideline for the 51-yard game-tying touchdown.

*Two passes on the game-winning field goal drive from Flacco to TE David Njoku, after another big make from Hopkins, the Browns take the lead 20-17 for the first time today.

2 – PHEW

Fields threw a hail-mary pass to end the game that the Bears WR Darnell Mooney almost caught, but he could not hold on and eventually was picked off by S D’Anthony Bell.

3 – FABULOUS FLACCO

He was not perfect and had three interceptions on the day, but Flacco made plays in big spots when the game mattered most and threw the ball for over 300 yards.  Flacco was 28 for 44, 374 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Overall

The Browns overcome injuries and poor offense to win at home and go to 9-5.  The defense today was terrific and kept them in the game.  It’s time for a nap, lol.

Game Summary

In a thrilling Sunday showdown, Joe Flacco showcased his resilience, passing for an impressive 374 yards and guiding the Cleveland Browns to a fourth-quarter comeback, securing a 20-17 victory over the Chicago Bears. Despite facing three interceptions, Flacco’s late-game heroics included a crucial 51-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper with 3:08 remaining, knotting the score at 17-all.

With just 32 seconds left on the clock, Flacco, the 38-year-old quarterback signed on Nov. 20 and making his third start for Cleveland, orchestrated a decisive drive. Completing two key passes to tight end David Njoku for 65 yards, he set up Dustin Hopkins’ game-winning 34-yard field goal.

The Bears, having squandered a fourth-quarter lead of 17-7, staged a last-ditch effort. On the final play, Justin Fields launched a Hail Mary from the 45-yard line into a crowded end zone. Despite two Browns defenders deflecting the ball, it landed in the hands of Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney, lying on his back. However, a fumble and subsequent interception by Browns safety D’Anthony Bell averted disaster for Cleveland.

Despite a season marred by injuries, the Browns maintained their hold on the No. 5 playoff spot in the AFC, with a record of 9-5. Tremaine Edmunds made a significant impact for the Bears, intercepting Flacco and returning it 45 yards for a touchdown immediately after halftime. While Fields struggled to produce big plays in the fourth quarter, Njoku stood out with 10 receptions for 104 yards, including a 2-yard touchdown, and Cooper contributed four receptions for 109 yards.
