Hey, have you heard about Anthony Kendall, the cornerback from Baldwin Wallace? The Browns and several other NFL teams are showing a lot of interest in him ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, but it seems like Cleveland is leading the way in terms of interest.
It’s not just the Browns who are interested, though. Kendall has had meetings with other teams like the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans, and Arizona Cardinals. However, the Browns were the first team to reach out to him, and they’ve had multiple in-person and phone conversations with him so far.
Kendall has been generating a lot of buzz thanks to his impressive pro day performance, where he showed off his athleticism with a 4.44 40-yard dash, 39 1/2-inch vertical jump, 11-foot broad jump, and 20 bench press reps. In his last season at Baldwin Wallace, Kendall had 56 tackles, three interceptions, 12 passes broken up, and one sack.
At 6 feet and 180 pounds, Kendall could provide some much-needed depth to the Browns’ defense. He’s known for his man-to-man coverage skills and solid tackling ability. It’s possible he could be a day 3 draft pick, but if not, the Browns could look to sign him as an undrafted free agent.
It’s exciting to see a homegrown talent like Kendall getting attention from NFL teams. He could potentially become only the seventh player in the league to come from a D3 school. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up, but one thing’s for sure – he’s definitely caught the eye of the Browns.
