Injuries and Coach’s Comments Leading Up To the Season Opener Against the Bengals

1 – Injuries

The big news on the injury front is that Denzel Ward was out practicing on a limited basis on Wednesday but is still in concussion protocol.

Nobody was held out of practice because of injury. Limited practicing on Wednesday outside of Ward were Marquise Goodwin (illness), Juan Thornhill (calf), and Alex Wright (knee).  All three should be ready for Sunday.

2 – Watson ready

The press asked Browns QB Deshaun Watson on how he feels about the upcoming season:

“I think this year is a fresh year. It’s a new year and it’s a lot of newness to this offense and defense. So, it’s very exciting, not just for the fans and the media, but for ourselves.”

It is good to hear that Watson is excited about the upcoming season and clearly, he sees 2023 as a rebirth of his career and an opportunity for the Browns.

3 – Stefanski on Watson

Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski was asked on Wednesday if Watson will show any signs of rust in week one:

“Have to tune in, I guess. I don’t know.”

Yes, we will Coach, fingers crossed.
