Sadly for the first time in the 2023 Browns training camp, the injury bug hit the team on Monday. According to Mary Kay Cabot and Tony Grossi, three Browns players walked into the medical tent. CB Denzel Ward with an illness, DE Myles Garrett with a foot injury, and RT Jack Conklin has a possible concussion. According to CBS Sports, the injuries for Ward and Garrett are minor and will be fine. More information to follow on Conklin.
The defenses of both the Browns and Eagles won the day. For the Browns, the highlight was Ward intercepting Jalen Hurts as he was matched up with DeVonta Smith throughout practice. There were multiple glowing reviews about the Browns defensive line, especially about Garrett.
On the offensive side of the ball, QB Deshaun Watson and RB Nick Chubb caused a fumble on a handoff and WR Amari Cooper had multiple drops, which is rare for Cooper. Chubb got multiple glowing reports from multiple reporters on how he looked Monday.
WR Elijah Moore (ribs) and CB Greg Newsome (groin) both sat out on Monday. But new addition DT Shelby Harris was out practicing against Philly.
