Browns Report 12/8 – Injury Updates and Player/Coach’s Comments

1 – Starting QB

Head Coach Kevin Stefanski has yet to name a starter as Dorian Thompson-Robinson, as of Thursday, is still in concussion protocol, and Joe Flacco is still taking most of the first-team snaps.  Stefanski on DTR said, “Yeah, I think we got to see how it goes. I think that’s what’s important in this situation. Dorian hasn’t cleared just yet, but he’s going to practice, so I want to see how it looks.”

Meanwhile, Jacksonville saw Trevor Lawrence’s return to practice on Thursday.

2 – Cooper

This week’s big name on the injury list for the Browns is WR Amari Cooper, who is still in concussion protocol.  It would be a surprise if Cooper would play on Sunday.

Also, TE David Njoku has not made it to practice as well two days into the week but should be available on Sunday, or at least we hope.

3 – Browns D

What has happened to the Browns’ elite defense has been a lot of debate as Cleveland had a rough road trip in Denver and LA.  That includes no sacks in two games, which did not make defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz happy.  On the zero sack total, Schwartz said, “We’re not built that way. We have a lot of talent up front, and we’re at our best when we can generate pressure with a four-man pass rush.”

The good news is that Myles Garrett practiced on Thursday, and Denzel Ward is practicing on a limited basis but seems to be in line to play on Sunday.
