3 Notable Notes Around the Loss

This was a tough pill to swallow as a Cavs fan as once again Cleveland gets dominated in the middle getting outrebounded 47 to 39.

3 – Hart

Josh Hart had a big night with a triple-doubled taunting the Cavs at the end of the game and touching Donovan Mitchell’s neckless on the sideline.¬† Mitchell and Caris LeVert¬†were both out.

Game Recap

Josh Hart achieved a triple-double, with Donte DiVincenzo adding 28 points as the New York Knicks rallied to overcome the loss of All-Star guard Jalen Brunson, who exited the game in the opening minute due to a left knee injury, to secure a 107-98 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night.

Hart contributed 13 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists, stepping up admirably in Brunson’s absence. The Knicks, missing several key starters due to injury, found their resilience as Hart and Miles McBride hit crucial 3-pointers in the final 1:36 to stave off a late Cavs surge.

The game started on a worrying note for the Knicks as Brunson, pivotal in their recent performances, suffered the injury on the first possession. Despite the setback, New York fought on, eventually sealing the win.

With Brunson’s status uncertain, the Knicks may need other players to step up in his absence, although there is optimism surrounding the progress of injured players like Julius Randle.

The Cavaliers, missing key players Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert, honored the late Nick Gilbert, son of owner Dan Gilbert, who passed away earlier, paying tribute to his significant role in the team’s history.
