Experiencing a victory is definitely a great feeling! Despite enduring a challenging period recently, the Cleveland Guardians have found a reliable remedy that never fails: winning. On Saturday night, Cleveland secured a 4-3 triumph over the Twins, thereby leveling up the series.
Finally, ending the drought of home runs and putting the Guardians ahead for good. The 402-foot bomb was Kwan’s first in 2023.
Allen only gave up two runs in 5 2/3s, giving the Guards what they needed for a win. Allen, in three starts, has an ERA under three.
Good to see Hentges. He pitched to only two batters and got two strikeouts, much needed from the bullpen after Stephan gave up the game-tying home run.
In Saturday’s game, Steven Kwan broke a seventh-inning tie by hitting his first home run since last season, giving the Cleveland Guardians a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Kwan’s 402-foot hit off Jorge Alcala was also the team’s first home run since April 29. The Twins, who lead the AL Central, had homered in a team-record 18 consecutive games, with Max Kepler and Carlos Correa both hitting home runs in this game. Cleveland’s Logan Allen had another impressive start, with José Ramírez’s base running helping to give the Guardians a 3-0 lead against Sonny Gray. Despite allowing Correa’s tying homer, reliever Trevor Stephan earned the win and Emmanuel Clase secured his 11th save of the season.
