3 Things Around The Game


What a come-from-behind victory for our Cleveland Guardians! After blowing a 5-1 lead, the Guardians trailed 6-5 heading into the top of the 9th when Andres Gimenez hit a game-tying off of Red Sox closer Kenley Jensen, scoring Tyler Freeman fromthird. 

In the 10th inning, the Guardians took the lead with a Gabriel Arias RBIsingle, but Emmanuel Clase could not get the save, giving up a sac fly to tie the game again at 7.

In the 11th, Jose Ramirez hit an RBI single to put the Guardians up for good, and Estevan Florial put the game away with a single, scoring the final two runs for Cleveland.  Scott Barlow finished the game with a 1-2-3 11th for his first save in a Guardians uniform. 


2 – Bibee bounces back

Tanner Bibee had a good start, going five innings and giving up only one run while scattering five hits with three strikeouts. 

3 – Road Warriors

After the win on Tuesday, the Guardians are now 9-2 on the road, the best road record for the club since 1948.

Game Summary

In the 11th inning of Tuesday night’s game, José Ramírez came through with a crucial RBI single, breaking the tie and securing a 10-7 victory for the Cleveland Guardians over the Boston Red Sox.

With no outs and runners on first and second, Ramírez delivered a sharp liner up the middle off Josh Winckowski (1-1). Following a sacrifice by Brayan Rocchio and an intentional walk to Bo Naylor, Estevan Florial added to the lead with a two-run single.

Cleveland’s closer, Emmanuel Clase (1-0), handled the 10th inning, though he gave up a tying sacrifice fly to Connor Wong. Scott Barlow then closed the game with three outs, earning his first save of the season and striking out two in the process.

Contributions were widespread for the Guardians, with Gabriel Arias notching two hits and two RBIs, Steven Kwan tallying three hits and scoring twice, and Tyler Freeman smashing a homer. This victory marked the Guardians’ third consecutive win.
