Jose hit a crucial 3-run homer

Cleveland Guardians fan, I can happily report that José Ramírez bounced back from a tough game with a three-run homer in the sixth inning, securing a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. After a slow start, the Guardians are now on a roll with a much-needed win.

Paul Quantrill had an impressive performance, pitching six shutout innings before being hit by a line drive on the leg. He allowed four hits and a walk, striking out four. Emmanuel Clase then came in to pitch, not without a little heart-racing tension the ninth and secured his sixth save of the season.

The game was scoreless until the sixth inning when Steven Kwan walked and moved up on Andres Gimenez’s base hit. Ramírez followed with a powerful homer down the right-field line, giving the Guardians a 3-0 lead.

The Tigers had been on a five-game winning streak, but Spencer Turnbull (1-3) struggled, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out three.

Despite being called for a pitch-clock violation on a 1-2 count, Ramírez didn’t let that faze him. He came out strong after the first four-strikeout game of his career in the second game of Detroit’s doubleheader on Tuesday.

The Tigers put up a fight in the sixth, putting runners on the corners, but Quantrill’s incredible effort to throw out Kerry Carpenter from his knees ultimately stopped them from scoring. Although Quantrill initially struggled to stand, he eventually walked off the field under his own power.

Spencer Torkelson’s homer made it 3-1 in the seventh, and Zach McKinstry’s pinch-hit homer brought Detroit within a run in the eighth. However, Carpenter and Akil Baddoo’s singles in the ninth weren’t enough to save the Tigers, as Clase retired the next three hitters to end the game.

For us Guardians fans, this win is a huge relief and reminds us that this team is capable of bouncing back after tough losses. We can now look forward to the next game and series with little a little confidence!
