Three Things Heading Into the Game at Rutgers This Weekend

1 – Injury updates

Head coach Ryan Day spoke to the media about the latest updates with the injuries to WR Emeka Egbuka and backup QB Devin Brown.  On Egbuka, Day said Egbuka was healthy for the Wisconsin game but “was held out as a precaution.”  And Brown: “It’s hard for me to talk specifics, but we’re expecting Devin to practice today.”

Sadly, the news about RB Miyan Williams is not good, as he is out for the season with an injury requiring surgery. No specifics at this time with the injury.

2 – Day on McCord

There’s been a lot of chatter this week on QB Kyle McCord’s play, and Ryan Day addressed it to the media, saying, “There were some critical plays that hurt us, and he knows that.”

According to ESPN QBR (total quarterback rating from 0 to 100), McCord scored his lowest rating of the season at 56 against Wisconsin, but before that, in his last two games that included Penn State, McCord was in the high 80s.

3 – Number 1

The first college football playoff rankings came out on Tuesday night, and the Ohio State Buckeyes are ranked number one, with rival Michigan at number three.
