Cavaliers Week In Review: Week 6 of Season 12/8/23

December 9, 2023

News and Notes

1 – Offensive rating

The Cavaliers are currently ranked 23rd in offensive rating in the league and are in the same ranking on assists to turnovers. This points out the problems the Cavs still have in the half-court setting up their offense, as they need to pass for points.

Less one-on-one and more set plays are needed for the Cavs.

2 – LeVert injury status

Caris LeVert is the latest Cavalier on the injury list, as he will be missing his third straight game with a knee injury.  LeVert is being missed, as he has the second-best usage rate on the team while averaging over 30 minutes of playing time coming off of the bench.

3 – Where’s Porter?

Craig Porter has been used less recently, which is odd as he has a high usage rate (third-best on the team behind Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert).

Porter has only played seven minutes in the past five games since the Lakers game on November 25th, when he played 17 minutes while scoring eleven.  Porter needs more playing time.
