In Week 4, the AFC North failed miserably with 3 of the 4 teams getting blown out in each of their games. The Baltimore Ravens were the only team that was able to pull out a win for the week. Injuries and hurt players affected the other teams in the division which contributed to them all losing.
Even with a miserable week for most teams in the division, the AFC North appears poised for a closely contested race throughout the 2023-24 regular season. However, in Week 4, the Baltimore Ravens took firm control of the division.
Facing off against the Cleveland Browns, the Ravens found themselves in a fortunate position. Deshaun Watson had suffered a shoulder injury the previous week, rendering him unavailable for the game. Dorian Thompson-Robinson assumed the starting role in place of Watson and appeared inexperienced against the formidable Ravens defense. He threw three interceptions, leading to a decisive 28-3 victory for the Ravens.
Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals both delivered disappointing performances, each suffering losses to AFC South opponents. The Steelers fell behind early against the Houston Texans, unable to mount a comeback and ultimately losing 30-6. Similarly, the Bengals took an initial 3-0 lead against the Tennessee Titans but failed to add any more points, succumbing to a 27-3 defeat.
