Head Coach Ryan Day gave the general update of “hopeful” when speaking about the return of TreVeyon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka, and Miyan Williams for Penn State, “Hopefully, we will have all those guys back for Saturday.”
Last Saturday against Purdue, Ohio State called multiple run plays for backup quarterback Devin Brown in the red zone. Day seemed pleased with Brown, saying, “he ran hard. I thought he competed.” Day also mentioned that he hoped Brown “learned his lesson” on the fumble in the end zone that cost the Buckeyes points against the Boilers.
Day overall is much more animated on the sideline in 2023 compared to past years. Day was asked about his passion on the sidelines, “It’s my job to bring it every Saturday and push as hard as I can.” Day also mentioned that he believes the 2023 Buckeyes are enjoying his energy on Saturday “I think this team likes to get coached hard. They do. This is a great team that can get pushed, and they respond well.”
