The Ohio State will face off against Missouri on December 29th in the Cotton Bowl. The Buckeyes are now ranked seventh, heading into the college football playoff and bowl season.
Head coach Ryan Day said of playing in the Cotton Bowl, “I wanted to let everybody know that we have a tremendous amount of respect for the Cotton Bowl. We were there in ’17. [It’s] kind of a gold standard on hospitality.”
Day was asked of McCord possibly being the starter for the Buckeyes in 2024, but would not commit. Day said of McCord’s 2023 season “I think he’s a good quarterback, I do. After every year you evaluate everything and try to figure out what’s next.”
UPDATE – It was announced on Monday the 4th that Kyle McCord has entered his name into the transfer portal.
Day also acknowledged that the current OSU defensive coordinator Jim Knowles is also up for the head coaching job at Duke.
