3 Things Browns Day 3 of Training Camp

1 – Haslam’s State of the Union

Jimmy and Dee Haslam spoke to the press on Monday and are confident with both Head Coach Kevin Stefanski and GM Andrew Berry heading into the 2023 season.

“We’re now entering our fourth year, and that’s a positive,” Jimmy said. “They have incredibly high expectations of themselves, and I’m comfortable with their expectations. I really am. Those guys are winners.”

The Haslam’s also talked about the latest progress with updating the stadium, “we want to continue having conversations about how we remodel the stadium and stay vibrant on the lakefront, Dee said.

“We think it’s really critical for the community. The lakefront is an important process. Outside of us, the lakefront in Cleveland has to be developed. The connection bridge needs to happen regardless of what happens to our stadium.”

2 – JOK Update

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah revealed that last year his foot suffered Lisfranc, but he is fully healed and his foot “feels good”.

JOK is also excited about the Browns new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and his strategy on defense.  “We have a scheme that will allow us to be who we are,” he said. “We’re looking to have a very strong year. We get to attack and show what we can do. You will see it in the way we play. It’s going to be no nonsense.”

3 – Wide Receiver Room

Amari Cooper sat out his second day of practice with a tweak of a muscle, and it is considered non-serious, which is good news.

Along with Cooper, the Browns have WR Marquise Goodwin out with blood clots and WR Anthony Schwartz is on the non-football injury list with a hamstring issue.

Three days into camp, and three wide receivers out, hopefully, this group does not suffer any more injuries in the near term.

On Saturday, the Browns to help with depth did sign wide receiver Austin Watkins Jr.
